Tanner Hodgin has joined the Germain Dermatology staff in Charleston, SC, as its newest physician assistant.
Tanner began his medical studies at NC State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He also worked as an athletic trainer for the football team. Following graduation, Tanner enrolled in PA-C school at Campbell University in North Carolina.
During his time in PA school, he worked as a dermatology medical assistant for two years, which piqued his interest in the field. A clinical rotation in dermatology prior to graduation solidified his path. Tanner then chose to move to Charleston to work as an extension of Marguerite Germain, MD, at Germain Dermatology.
He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all disorders of the skin, hair, and nails, and has a special interest in educating patients about skin cancer prevention and helping to diagnose and treat them when necessary.
Tanner is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice medicine through the South Carolina Medical Board. He practices at both at Germain Dermatology’s Summerville and Mt. Pleasant locations. When he is not working, he enjoys watching sports, spending time with friends and family, and participating in outdoor activities (wearing proper sun protection, of course)!
