Considering CoolSculpting? Check out this ‘real-life’ CoolSculpting story from Elle Magazine freelance writer, Cristina Goyanes, ‘Why I Decided to Freeze My Thighs’.
Goyanes a self acclaimed ‘wide-hipped, thick thighed, big butted latino’ decided to delve, head first, into the journey of CoolScultping. While she states she has always accepted her heritage and embraced her curves, like so many other women, she had that ONE THING that just bothered her. For Goyanes… it was her thighs.
After becoming more active, athletic & fit over the past five years she noticed her ‘undeserired’ thighs becoming, not less, but more undesirable. Due to her natural shape and activity as her legs got stronger, her thighs got larger. She was intrigued when her research led her to the FDA-approval of CoolSculpting for inner and outer thighs in April 2014, and shortly after her journalistic experience began.
Three months post procedure Goyanes is completely satisfied with the results of her inner and outer thighs. Wearing shorts, rompers and fun dresses she felt she never could pull off, Goyanes is now flaunting her fit figure… thighs and all.

It is widely accepted that women want to look beautiful, and today most women are very open about the lengths they go to in order to feel their best; however, many men still are not.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery
, men currently account for 10% of all cosmetic treatments. Research has also shown that men tend to choose non or minimally evasive treatments where there is little to no down-time, and treatments where results appear more natural.
It is easy to see why CoolSculpting Technology
is becoming a popular choice for the male population with results that develop over time, no recovery period and proven satisfaction. Men are commonly using the procedure to eliminate the stubborn, hard to target, fat on their hips, lower abdomen and lower back.
At Germain Dermatology
we treat both men and women for medical and cosmetic needs. We understand the pressure to not only look good, but to feel good, isn’t only a female concern.
Dr. Germain takes great measures to ensure each of our male patients feel as comfortable when visiting us as our female patients do.
Dr. Germain explains CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting and DualSculpting are nonsurgical methods for healthy patients who want to target specific, stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise. With fat cells being naturally more vulnerable to the effects of cooling, the cooling effect from the procedure causes crystallization of the lipids in the fat cells. The cells then begin to break down and are gradually eliminated by the body’s normal metabolic processes, over a period of two to four months. These fat cells are eliminated from your body permanently. Unlike liposuction -which also eliminates fat cells from your body- the CoolSculpting procedure doesn’t require the patient to endure surgery as there’s no cutting or needles.
