You Are Never Too Old to Learn

With the population aging and people living longer the emphasis on health education is growing. It’s not about looking perfect or buying top of the line products it is about knowledge and routine; knowing how to preventatively take care of yourself inside and out.
We came across this great article from the New York Timesabout the focus redirecting towards education in dermatology practices. At Germain Dermatology we consider ourselves ‘education centered’ and do our best to continue our learning and insight to better serve our patients in all areas. Dr. Germain regularly attends seminars, trainings and conferences on techniques, new products and new procedures. The rest of our staff is also actively continuing their education, arming us with the best of the best to treat you.

Take a peek at the full article from the NY Times, and be sure to be on the lookout for many great educational opportunities with Germain Dermatology. As always, if you have a question about your health, skin, products or procedures please feel free to call the office and we would be happy to guide you in the right direction.

“Charleston is a mecca for outdoors and beach enthusiasts. Being active is a great habit to have, but doing it with the correct precautions is important. Aside from skin cancer, increased wrinkles, pigmentation problems and texture issues are all caused from too much sun,” said Dr. Marguerite Germain of Germain Dermatology, “Our Sun Undone evening is a way for people to learn how to be sun safe and what procedures (cosmetic and medical) are available to them each, individually.”
Please RSVP to reserve your space at 881-4440. This event is free and open to the public, but has limited space.

*Remember the best option is always prevention. Keep yourself covered when in the sun and apply, and reapply, sunscreen.
