Yearly skin screenings are one of the most important steps you can take to ensure early detection of skin cancers.  In order to get the most out of your skin check follow our simple three steps:

1. Mark (with washable marker) any spots that concern you. New spots, ones that have changed in appearance or ones that are irritating you are always important to note.
2. Come to your appointment sans lotions, oils and makeup. Having your hair down or without product also makes it easier for your doctor to check your scalp.
3. Remove all nail polish before your appointment. Skin under the nails is especially susceptible to UV rays, being able to see through the nail for any spots is important.
