PRONE TO BREAKOUTS? SAY NO TO DAIRY.

PRONE TO BREAKOUTS? SAY NO TO DAIRY.

Thanks to the wonderful World Wide Web information is at our fingertips. While this is a great asset for many things, it can be a bit dangerous when it comes to the medical field. Self-diagnosing, at home remedies and even over the counter treatments can be troublesome without a basis of fact. We want to do our part in helping you sort out the fact from the fiction. The Truth behind: “Eating Dairy will increase or cause Acne.”
True! Dairy stimulates the body to produce a variety of hormones, which can aggravate acne.

Here’s what to avoid if you’re prone to breakouts:·       Whole milk and full-fat dairy products, including cheese, yogurt, cream cheese, cottage cheese, and ice cream. The worst offenders are sweetened lattes, cappuccinos, and other coffee drinks, since they contain dairy and sugar, both of which aggravate acne. Instead, try unsweetened soy milk or almond milk in your coffee or cereal. If you can’t make that kind of commitment, then at least try nonfat organic milk, which contains fewer cow hormones. (Hormones are concentrated in milk fat.)·       Instant breakfast drinks, energy bars, protein drinks, hot-chocolate mix, and even luncheon meats — these often contain “hidden” dairy in the form of whey and casein, which are cow proteins.·       Creamy desserts and sauces, spreads, butters, and condiments like mayo, ranch dressing, and dips.·       Whey protein, found in many protein powders. A report last year linked whey to moderate to severe acne flare-ups.
